Dear Freelancer, please write a 5-page APA-style paper .

📋 MAIN DETAILS: First, define and discuss genre theory: What is genre analysis and why is it useful (if it is)? What are some of the key debates around genre?

Next, choose three recent films (the last 5 years or so) that you know well and that you think are in the SAME genre. What is that genre(s)? How does it work? Identify and discuss at least five elements of that genre (e.g. settings, functions, essential characters, plots, archetypes, types of narrators, uses of time, and so on) giving concrete examples from the films. Be systematic and specific.

Not all elements will necessarily be in all films but some should be in all, and all in some. I suggest that you organize your essay around the GENRE ELEMENTS you identify, NOT by the individual films or you will get lost in details and/or be repetitive.
