Those of you who would like to receive extra credit may write two extra responses on the history and practice of celebration of the major Russian holidays: Soviet holidays such as New Year, Women’s Day (March 8th), Labor Day (May 1st), Victory Day (May 9th) and the anniversary of Russian Revolution (Nov. 7th). You could also write your responses on celebration of Russian religious holidays such as Easter or Christmas.
