(For instance, Teddy discusses, in the old, rundown building where he is killed, at two different times, with Leonard the ideas and memories Leonard retains–he points out flaws in Leonard’s memory. Natalie uses Leonard’s amnesia to get something she wants. Leonard too chooses, in fact, to use his amnesia–he chooses to destroy photos, take a new vehicle, take the cash, write information about Leonard, and put down Teddy’s license plate for a tattoo. He does this so that when he forgets, he will piece together that Teddy is “the one” which will lead him to then kill Teddy. That is a conscious choice to turn himself into a killer.)
