Evidence-based Practice uses the best evidence to provide quality healthcare services to patients (Portney,2020). Nurses are obligated to provide quality and effective care to their patients. One step in ensuring they achieve this goal is through EBP. Evidence-Based Practice involves using scientific evidence to improve and maintain healthcare safety while improving the quality of healthcare outcomes.
In what ways do qualitative findings contribute to EBP?
Several steps are taken while conducting EBP. The initial step is identifying the health concerns. Patients and nurses interact to help formulate the issue that will be solved using the EBP process. The step involves identifying the affected population, medical options or treatment, alternative measures, and the desired patient health outcome. Once the nurses have identified these issues, the next step is research. EBP involves intensified research to determine the best evidence to be applied to the patient.
Qualitative findings are significant in EBP. It is because qualitative findings provide the nurses with critical patient information in terms of their behaviors. According to Camargo et al.,2018, quantitative research is essential but gives the numbers, while qualitative research gives the attributes of the population under research. Qualitative findings also enable the nurses to identify the experiences of the patients. In EBP, the nurses use the best available method of administering care. Human experience help improves nursing care practices.
Community-Based Participatory Research
Community-Based Participatory Research is a qualitative method where the research and community members collaborate to identify the problem and develop a solution (Brush et al.,2020). Evidence-Based Practice is dependent on identifying the main problem amongst the patients. Using CBPR, nurses can understand the community and identify their main issues. The research method is effective as the community contributes to developing solutions. In this manner, the nurses will choose the best solution among the solutions provided. EBP will be successful since the best evidence is provided through the CBPR.

Evidence based practice is very important in nursing research because of the changing knowledge. There is research being done on everything because things are changing every day. In a qualitative study, there are things such as questionnaires and surveys being done. This is very beneficial because we get results from those that the certain topic is affecting. I think that it is extremely important to continue studying the current and next generation of nursing students as well as current and retired nurses. This would give a wide variety of people to study. I have personally experienced the changing nursing world because I will be taking the next generation for my NCLEX. There have been many things implemented to try and help the next generation pass the new NCLEX. The way that we learn is changing from person to person. No one learns the same way and I think that this is why it is so important to include evidence based practice in research. I think that if I had to choose a way to implement a type of evidence based practice, I would have to pick case studies for my qualitative research. I think that my experience with case studies helped me learn so much. There are so many good things about case studies like the real life information that’s included. It contains information that is crucial for evidence based practice. I have spent a lot of time this semester already looking at case studies, and this is how I learn best. It is important to understand how each person learns and incorporate their style while doing this evidence based practice. I simply think that evidence based practice can be broken down. Evidence is the results of an experiment, so it is basically the results of performing an experiment to help support your theory or question.
