The purpose of this assignment is to provide students with an opportunity to reflect on their professional experience in educational leadership and make connections to their understanding of the course content.
Students will write a 1000-1500-word paper on their professional experience with either the development, implementation or evaluation of an educational program. Papers will follow standard APA 6th Ed. writing style and essay format (introduction body paragraphs and conclusion) and be graded on the following elements:
Statement on positionality in relation to the work (5 pts)
Description of the program development, implementation or evaluation, and the student’s involvement in the process (5 pts)
Critical analysis of the program development, implementation or evaluation, drawing on course content (readings and discussions) (10 pts)
Proposed recommendations for how this program development, implementation or evaluation could have been enhanced, drawing on course content (readings and discussions) (5 pts)
Writing quality (5 pts)
Students will not be evaluated on their performance in the development, implementation or evaluation activity, but will be primarily evaluated on their critical reflection of this encounter.
